READ ALOUD
While we are selecting our books we can listen to our read aloud that we voted on. If you are at home you can listen by clicking the button below. You will need our database password that is posted in our Google Classroom.
BOOK EXCHANGE
While we listen to our read aloud we select new books. If you are at home you can choose a book on Sora. See your Google Classroom Stream for directions and a link to Sora.
READING TRACKER AND GOALS
After we checkout our books we record what books we are reading. On your reading tracker record the titles of the books that you are reading. In the corner of your tracker your page you can set a goal for how many books you think that you can read by the end of this school year. If you are at home, record your titles on any piece of paper.
Example:
If you read about one book a week for the entire school year your goal will be about 40.

GENRE- WHAT IS THAT?
Have you ever heard the word genre before? Genres are different groups of books. We can use the word genre in other places too!
Examples:
Music: Rock, country, pop
Movies: Scary, funny, action
We have 11 genres of books in our library and we track which ones we are reading. After you checkout your books you shade in the box of the matching genre.
Virtual students, you can track the different genres you are reading by printing this page out or creating your own graph.

What do you like to read?
Our reading tracker and genre graph are tools that will help you see the types of books that you like to read most. To get you thinking about what types of books you might already be interested in, complete the interest inventory in your workbook on page 9.
