After first introducing the Wonder League Robotics Competition last school year to our students, teams have officially been chosen! Letters are on the way home today with information. We will begin on October 9th here in the Library. Watch this short video to see all the amazing things that students will have the opportunity to do:
The Legos have arrived!! We now offer a Lego wall and a Stick Together project for students to work on in the Library. Students will have an opportunity to use either one of these great new projects when they are finished finding their new books each week!
We are very excited for the last of the new furniture that has arrived here in the Library. Students are now able to use several soft seating options throughout the room while working on projects or reading. Students have been enjoying the many other changes that have come to our room. This week we were able to start making use of the whiteboard tables around our room. Students answered the question, “what do you want to get better at or learn this year?”
Welcome back to another great year at Cicero Elementary. Our library is run by myself, Mr. DeSantis (Library teacher), and Mrs. Harte our library aide. I hope that you enjoyed your summer vacation. While you were away there were some big changes happening in the library.
We are are fortunate to now have some colorful flexible seating courtesy of our school district. Students will be better able to move about the room and work with partners now. You can see some of the pictures of our new furniture being installed below. We are are so excited for the year to come and there are even more changes yet to come. You can look forward to more information at open house on Robotics Club, Coding Club and Battle of the Books. Make sure to stop by and see the library! |
