READ ALOUD
What is your favorite thing to do when you are outside?
BOOK EXCHANGE
We are going to choose two new books while we listen to our read aloud. If you are at home you can find something to read on BookFlix by clicking the button below. You will need our password that is in the stream of your Google Classroom.
READING TRACKER
Part of becoming a better reader is reading a lot of different books. Use the reading tracker to keep track of the different types of books we read. The letters on the tracker are the first letter of the author's last name.
Example: If you read a book by Jane Smith you will cross out the letter S because Smith starts with S. Try to get a different letter each week.

FIVE FINGER RULE
When you are choosing your book you can use the "Five Finger Rule" to help decide if the book is a good fit for you. How it works:
- Read any page in the book from top to bottom.
- Any time you find a word you don't know, put up one finger.
- When you get to the end of the page count how many fingers you have up.
Reading a spine label
The labels on the spines of our books help us keep the Library organized. The top part of the label tells us the area of the Library the book belongs to, and the bottom letters are the first three letters of the author's last name.
