Thank you for coming in today. Everything you need for the day can be found below. You will not be doing book exchange today. 4th gradeWe are working on a favorite author project. Show them the video below to start the class. Students will have work time after this. 3rd GradeShow them the video below to start the class. There are more videos below this one for a PebbleGo activity and the book "Stellaluna." PebbleGo: Explore the topic "Bats". The video shows how to use PebbleGo. The password for our database page is listed on the sub paper I left on my desk. Extra time: You can explore other animals on PebbleGo, letting the class pick what they would like to learn about. 4th Grade 9:30-10:10
We can use today as a catch up day. You can play the read aloud for the students on the smartboard (ask them what chapter they heard last, I have multiple posted). If for some reason the website is down I left the physical book as well.
While students listen to the read aloud, they need to finish up the Unit 1 and 2 quizzes in Google Classroom. You can play the video below for them for a quick message from me. 3rd Grade 10:20-11:00

This week we are starting a new unit about nonfiction. Share the following video with kids and then listen to the read aloud with extra time. Let students know that this weeks lesson has a quiz in their Google Classroom.

This is day two of our unit on becoming a reader. You are going to play a read aloud for them and then do a page in their workbooks that covers the parts of a book. You can play the video below that goes along with this. You will also talk about what makes a good fit books (I made a video for this and how we do the "Five Finger Rule").
Any extra time, use bookflix (you will have to navigate to the bookflix page from the databse page, which is towards the top)

Parts of a book
We will complete page 5 in our workbook together, practicing the parts of a book. If you are at home you can print the page or just talk with someone at home about the parts of a book. You do not have to turn this in. Kindergarten 1:30-2:10
This is similar to 1st grade. You will play a read aloud, discuss parts of a book and then use the remaining time to explore BookFlix (this is new to them).

We will work together to learn the names of the parts of our books. We will complete page 5 in our workbook. 2:10-4:00 Planning/Open timeDellaVella-Students are beginning their outer space unit -Using their chromebooks they will sign in and go to the google classroom -In google classroom you will see a link to our resources page, the password is in the plans -Help students navigate to pebble go and outer space -Students can spend the remainder of their class time exploring the different planets and attempt to decide which planet they would like to do. -Show students the button that lets them listen to the text. -Today our letter is L, Book exchange10 minutes -Take students back to the everybody section and have them show you the L shelf -Bring students together and share two books, one L and the other a new book -Pick a student to take each of these books as their book for the day -Students should have their blue book with them -Run checkout on the back computer and when you scan their book also stamp the letter in the workbook (You are stamping the first letter of the author's last name) -Students return to their seats after checking out their book -When book exchange is done you can bring everyone to the rug, they should know their seats -Today we are reviewing parts of the book -Hold up the story Owl Moon and ask students to identify the different parts of the book (cover, pages, spine) -Read Owl Moon -Play listening game (on sub page) have kids close their eyes and you play the different videos to see if kids can guess the sound of the animals -Show students the page in their workbook they are going to do today(you can see it on the sub page) -Students are going back to tables to draw and color this page, they draw what they would find if they went owling.
